John Kriesel, Iraq War Veteran and newly elected MN State Representative, to speak at Dunwoody

book,
experiences Thursday Nov. 4

WHAT: A presentation by John Kriesel, a Veteran of the Iraq War (Staff Sergeant), and the author (as told to Jim Kosmo) of the book Still Standing, the story of his service, his courageous recovery from his injuries, and his determination to go forward in life. Admission is free and open to the public.

WHO: John Kriesel was deployed to Kosovo in 2004 as part of a NATO peacekeeping force. Less than two years later he was deployed to Iraq where he was stationed at Camp Fallujah. He lost two of his buddies and both of his legs Dec. 2, 2006, when a roadside bomb tore through his Humvee outside of Fallujah. Kriesel has been awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Purple Heart Medal, and the Bronze Star Medal.

Based on unofficial results by the Office of the Minnesota Secretary of State, Kriesel is also the State Representative elect for Minnesota State District 57A.
