Good to Great Campaign Scrapbook

Robert W. Carlson Commons
This 24,000 square foot addition, a generous gift from longtime trustee Robert W. Carlson and his family, provides much needed dedicated student space, including a student lounge, game room, office space for Student Government and Phi Theta Kappa, new restrooms and an entrance to the Elftmann Student Success Center.

Campus Beautification
Some of the most significant physical improvements to Dunwoody in recent years are on the outside, with environmental improvements that include a landscaped parking lot for 1,100 cars, a pond with a fountain, the planting of numerous trees, shrubs and flowers, and a new threestory glass and brick façade that faces downtown Minneapolis.

Anthony L. Ferrara Career Services Center
The recently renamed Ferrara Career Services Center is a campus connecting point for employers and potential employees – whether they be Dunwoody students, recent grads or alums seeking new opportunities. Helping students find immediate jobs that lead to meaningful careers is the central focus of all Dunwoody faculty and staff. Alumni gifts from Ted and Todd Ferrara, in honor of their father, further strengthen our ability to serve Dunwoody students, both past and present.

The Good to Great Campaign Kickoff
Under the leadership of campaign chair Gary Petersen (right, with students), Dunwoody launched the Good to Great campaign with fireworks in September 2006. Gary currently serves as chair of
Dunwoody’s Board of Trustees.

Harper Center of Graphics Technology
Ron and Katherine Harper, longtime supporters of Dunwoody’s award-winning Design and Graphics Technology programs, recently committed $500,000 to upgrade the College’s printing and graphics lab and endow the Ron and Katherine Harper Scholarship Fund. The newly remodeled Harper Center of Graphics Technology also includes three classrooms that comprise the Harper Studio.

HAAS Technical Education Center
Dunwoody’s Machine Tool Technology program has flourished thanks to the generous support of Haas Automation Inc., and Minnesota-based Haas distributor, Productivity Inc. The College’s Haas Center features six Haas mini-mills and an HS1 vertical mill in an updated machine tool laboratory that has become one of the most sophisticated in the nation.

Warren Building Improvements
The home of Dunwoody’s leading-edge automotive programs features the new Adamich Automotive Lab, along with new hoists, lighting, flooring, production lab benches and a widened drive-in lane that mirrors the customer service write-up area found in today’s automotive dealerships and repair facilities. A dditional space was created for our Toyota, Honda and Chrysler manufacturer programs. The Adamich lab was renamed to honor the long time financial support of Dunwoody alum John Adamich and his wife, Betty.

Elftmann Student Success Center
The Elftmann Student Success Center, made possible by a gift from alum and former Dunwoody board chair Joel Elftmann and his wife, Mary Ann, (right, with family), is an inviting, attractive academic space housing key learning support services such as tutoring, supplemental instruction and advising. It is also the home of Gateway, which gives new and returning students the opportunity to improve their academic skills before entering a technical program.

Crosby Family Conference Room
Since 1914, members of the Crosby family have provided 162 years combined service on the College’s Board of Trustees. Current board member David Crosby and several members of the Crosby family (left) were on campus for the room’s formal dedication in May.

Wenda W. and Cornell L. Moore Multi-Cultural Center
Thanks to a generous gift from long-time trustee Cornell Moore and his wife Wenda (right), Dunwoody now has a warm and inviting space to welcome new and prospective students, host meetings, build collaborations and provide information about community resources. The Moore Multi-Cultural Center has quickly become a space where students of any background can obtain support and feel empowered.

Anderson Family Legacy Room
To commemorate a significant gift that provided much needed infrastructure and technology, a key conference room was renamed the Anderson Family Legacy Room. Cliff I. Anderson and wife Nancy’s giving to the college has exceeded $1 million. Both Cliff I. and his father Cliff H. have served on the Board of Trustees.

A complete listing of contributors to the Good to Great campaign will be published in the Annual Report edition of The Compass, Dunwoody’s magazine for alumni and friends, scheduled for December 2009.
